As believers, we engage in spiritual warfare daily, and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual. This battle has already be secured on our behalf when Christ died on the cross of Calvary and gave us the key of life and death. Believers are however expected to utilize some spiritual weapons in ensuring the complete annihilation of the enemy.
What are these weapons?
- The word of God
The word of God is a strong weapon against the power of the devil. When temptation comes our way, a sure weapon that can neutralize the sting of the enemy is God unfailing word. As we activate its awesome power, the bands of the wicked are permanently broken. The word of God is likened to a sword which can be used to cut asunder every force of the enemy. Jesus Christ according to the scripture used the undiluted word of God to overcome the temptation of the Devil.
- The blood of Jesus
The blood of Jesus Christ is the most potent weapon against the enemy. In the book of Revelation 12:11:”they overcame him by the blood of the lamp and the words of their testimony” As we sprinkle the blood of Jesus, evil forces begin to disappear. The blood is more powerful than that of bull and other sacrificial animal. It can be used whenever we desire protection in the place of spiritual warfare.
- The name of Jesus
The name of Jesus is a strong tower the righteous runs into it and they are saved. The bible tells us in Phil 2:9-11, that God has highly exalted Jesus and given him a name that is above every other name. At the mention of his name every knee must bow, and all tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord. His name is a strong tower where the righteous run into and they are saved from the attack of the enemy. Agents of darkness hate to hear the name, because it carries awesome powers and anointing.
- Praise and worship
As you praises and worship God, demons will begin to tremble. Prison doors are opened and every demonic chain of oppression is broken whenever we activate the power inherent in his name. When King Jehoshaphat was faced with threats from enemy nations, he was instructed by God to appoint praise singers and deploy the instrument of praise and worship. On the day of battle, Jehoshaphat and his people stayed behind while the praise singers went ahead of them singing praise unto God
As they sang songs of adoration, the lord ambushed the enemy nations and they begin to destroy themselves. They were totally annihilated via the instrumentality of praise and worship. When the enemy comes like a flood against us, all we have to do is to raise the stand of praise and worship, and every storm will cease.
